Last night, on MSNBC, a reporter noted, in passing, that if we started drilling in ANWR today, the effects wouldn't be felt on gas prices for around five years . . . after quickly admitting that President Bush has been advocating drilling in ANWR since (at least) the beginning of his first administration. Which means that if, anytime during the first two years, Congress had gone along with him, we'd be getting the benefit by now.
I'm not one of those folks who think drilling in ANWR is a cureall, but, sheesh, it seems obvious that increasing the supply at least might help decrease the price.
